About us
My name is Ed Smith. If you are looking for a great fishing adventure you've
come to the right place. I am a life long fisherman with proven success
rates for salmon, steelhead and sturgeon in local waters, concentrating
mainly on the Columbia and Willamette Rivers.
I look
forward to guiding you into some of the best fishing the northwest has to
offer, safely and productively. With Superior Sportfishing catching fish is
only part of the adventure!
We set the stage with a 2004
custom built 22 foot North River Scout (photos below). We have a state of the art sonar
system complete with an onboard WASS Global Positioning System and a
powerful VHS marine radio coupled to an 8 foot whip antenna. Padded high
back swivel seating makes for a comfortable trip for young or old.
On the business end of our
boat hangs a 225 horse power Yamaha V-Max with jet pump, or Prop,
whichever the current conditions may call for. Next in line is the 8 horse
power Yamaha four stroke trolling motor with power thrust and electric
start, combined with a TR-1 Gold Auto pilot.
Whether one person or the
whole family, we fish you comfortably. At Superior Sportfishing, we offer
some of the best Sturgeon, and Salmon Guided Fishing Trips in the lower 48
states, on the Columbia River (located on the boarders of Oregon and Washington).

We offer trips on the
Columbia River for Spring Salmon, Summer Salmon, Fall Salmon, Shad, both
keeper size Sturgeon and the mighty Oversize Sturgeon. These prehistoric
White Sturgeon grow to sizes from just over five feet to fourteen feet in
length and weigh in at some 400 plus pounds. An average over size will be
7-8 feet in length.
We fish the Columbia River
from the Bonneville Dam to Buoy 10 near Astoria Oregon where the Columbia
River flows into the Pacific Ocean. Buoy 10 provides world class fishing for
Chinook Salmon, Silver Salmon and White Sturgeon.
Whatever your level of
fishing experience, we'll do our best to ensure you have a great time and a
successful day on the water.
