Where are you from:
Colorado
Fishing date 2/15/2009
Ed Smith is a honest and down-to-earth fishing genius. His buddy Wayne
is a great guy who has a wealth of fishing knowledge, as well as many great
hunting and fishing stories.
I spoke with Ed on Friday the 13th,
inquiring about a Sturgeon trip Sunday the 15th. Ed advised Sunday was
"non-keep" day, the water was cold, and we would only catch a few smaller
Sturgeon. He said he would take us fishing but conditions were far from
ideal. I booked!
As Ed predicted, the water was 40.8 degrees. We
ended the day with 12, two to five feet in length, Sturgeon each (supporting
photos). Millie was grinning from ear-to-ear. We were extra pleased with the
great times!
The boat is perfectly designed to accommodate all those
who were born to fish. You won't believe how Ed designed his boat!
Ed, I can't wait to book another Sturgeon trip soon!

A Big Plus
"I will always do my best to
provide honest fishing reports and if I believe the fishing is not worth
your time and money I will tell you so, fishing is not always red hot. If
you are still interested in trying you luck I will do my best to get you
into the fish."
"I have fished in many areas of
the northwest during prime and not so prime conditions. Some of these times,
when I anticipated the fishing to be slow, the not so hot bite turned into
one of our best days on the water. This just goes to show that some of the
best fishing can happen when your least expecting it."

White Sturgeon
The northwest is home to the
largest population of great white sturgeon in the world. The Columbia River
offers top quality sturgeon angling opportunity throughout the year.
Sturgeon average from 7 - 14 feet in length and can weigh up to 400 pounds.
It's hard to imagine just how
big and strong these fish are until you've experienced the fight for
yourself first-hand. You'll want to bring along your camera to capture this
incredible fish on film along with the vast scenery of the Columbia River
Gorge, some of the most spectacular in North America.
This trip provides plenty of
action and fun for veteran as well as beginner anglers. Keeper Sturgeon
range from 42" to 60" though many are hooked under and over that size.
These fish are known to
provide some of the best eating meat of any freshwater species. Sturgeon is
great smoked deep fried, baked or smoked and canned.
